Teams of the Season |
Good enough for Europe
Everton didn’t inspire much confidence at the start of the 2006-07 season. They hadn’t added many signatures to a poor previous season and had replaced the inspirational Nigel Martin with an on-loan Manchester United reserve.
But the signings added to a compact unit. Andy Johnson fired early season goals, Joleon Lescott proved an inspiring capture and Tim Howard had the second best goalkeeping stats in the Premiership.
David Moyes’ first XI played 80% of the league action (with only Bolton’s first XI playing more regularly) and he only made 79 substitutions all season.
The Match of the Day Football Yearbook computer calculates a team of the season for every club covered but also gives you all the information you require to argue a case for a different line-up.
